The Day After Retrieval: Post Day 1

Since yesterday, things didn't quite get better overnight. On top of that, I already purchased non-refundable tickets when we learned my retrieval date to go whale watching for today. Nausea on top of riding out to sea is not a good mix, and spent the majority of the time near the toilet on the boat. However, I can say that I did run outside when we spotted whales and saw humpback whales swimming right next to us! They were breaching the water and looked like they knew we were watching. It was definitely worth seeing, but wish we had the option to postpone the reservation so I could enjoy it more.

I called the clinic back when we returned to Boston harbor in the afternoon and I picked up a prescription at CVS to help the nausea. I also got a pair of those acupressure wristbands to help with nausea. I am starting to feel a lot better and was finally able to keep some liquids down. I finally ate some food too - yummy yummy food. Though I must have eaten too much because I haven't lost this bloated feeling since.

As far as any pain, I don't feel any pain. I've barely had any cramps too (must be the Vicodin working), but I do sometimes feel like I've got a side stitch or pinch. I definitely feel super sore around my abdomen. It feels like I'm recovering from doing 300 sit-ups. I can't tell if this soreness is from the retrieval procedure, or if it's from the huge workout my stomach has had from the constant vomiting.

Overall, I'm feeling much better now. I'm just taking it easy. Remind me that I won't be needing Vicodin if I do another donation. It's just WAY too strong for me!
