Numerous couples, due to various medical reasons, are unable to carry or deliver children but earnestly desire to have their own genetic offspring. Thanks to recent advancements in reproductive technologies, those couples (Intended Parents) are now being offered the marvel opportunities to have another woman (Surrogate or Gestational Carrier) to carry and give birth of their own child/Children.
A first-time surrogate is compensated for $25,000, and an experienced Surrogate can be compensated for up to $50,000. Surrogate compensation is dispensed on a monthly basis during the course of the pregnancy. A Surrogate also receives additional fees on multiple birth, invasive procedures, maternity clothing, child cares and lost wages..
The pregnancy is achieved via transferring the Intended Parent’s embryos into Surrogate’s uterus by a Fertility Doctor, hence you can be a Surrogate even though your tubes are tied.
Before starting the embryo transfer procedure, you will need to undertake Surrogate screening, legal agreement signing, and medical preparation. The pregnancy test is performed 2 weeks post the embryo transfer procedure. This process can take 2-3 months to accomplish.
Traveling is needed to the Intended Parent’s Fertility Clinic for the embryos transfer procedure, unless you live near the Fertility Clinic. All traveling expenses will be covered for you and your companion, including air fares, hotel, car service, meal allowance. You will also be reimbursed for childcares and lost wages.
If you have a health insurance with Surrogate Coverage, you will likely be matched with Intended Parents quicker. Otherwise, if your insurance excludes surrogacy coverage or you don’t have any insurance, the Intended Parent(s) will be responsible for purchasing a Surrogate Maternity Policy to cover your pregnancy cares and the delivery.
Yes. An independent attorney on your behalf will be retained at the expenses of the Intended Parent(s). You will be represented and guided by your Attorney on reviewing and signing the Surrogacy Contract. The Attorney will discuss with you in details regarding your benefits package, compensations, responsibilities as well as the legal terms on parental rights.
An OB-GYN Clinic and a Hospital in the vicinity of your residence will be used for the maternity cares and baby delivery. The Intended Parents may attend the doctor visits with you sometimes, and will be present at the Hospital at the most exciting moment of the baby delivery.
